​    Zhixiang Lin
    Associate Professor
    Department of Statistics and Data Science
BIOGRAPHY: Zhixiang Lin received his B.S. from Tsinghua University in 2010 and Ph.D. from Yale University in 2015. During his graduate study at Yale, he was co-advised by Prof. Hongyu Zhao in the Department of Biostatistics and Prof. Matthew State in the Department of Psychiatry. Dr. Lin worked with Prof. Wing Hung Wong at Stanford University as a postdoctoral researcher from 2015 to 2018. In 2018, he was appointed as Assistant Professor in the Department of Statistics at the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK).
Beyond statistics, he is a keen tennis player.

    Ye Zhang
​    Postdoctoral Scholar
BIOGRAPHY: ​Ye Zhang received her bachelor's degree in Forestry Economics and Management from Beijing Forestry University, her master's degree in Statistics from Lanzhou University, and her Ph.D. in Computer Science and Technology from Harbin Institute of Technology (Shenzhen). Her research focuses on computational pathology and multi-omics integration for precision cancer diagnosis, with a particular interest in enabling earlier detection. Outside of research, she enjoys watching sunrises and sunsets, practicing calligraphy, and photography. During her PhD, she spent three years learning the violin to cope with research stress and still jokingly describes her playing as being at the “sawing wood” stage.

    Muyang Ge
​    PhD student in Statistics
BIOGRAPHY: ​Muyang Ge received his bachelor's degree from Harbin Institute of Technology in 2021, majoring in Statistics. Prior to his PhD study, he was a research assistant at the Chinese University of Hong Kong. His research interest is statistical machine learning and its applications.

    Xiaocheng Zhou
​    PhD student in Statistics
BIOGRAPHY: ​Xiaocheng obtained his bachelor's degree in Biomedical Engineering from Beihang University and finished his master's degree in Bioinformatics at Shanghai Jiao Tong University. His current research interests are statistical machine learning and computational biology. After research works, he prefers to relax by workout or cooking a meal for himself.

    Jishuai Miao
​    PhD student in Statistics
BIOGRAPHY: ​Jishuai received his bachelor's degree from Shandong University in Data Science and Big Data Technology in the Department of Mathematics. He nurtures a keen interest in coding alongside his mathematical endeavors. Before commencing his PhD journey, he held the position of a research assistant at the Chinese University of Hong Kong. His research primarily revolves around the biological applications of statistical machine learning.

    Ji Qi
​    PhD student in Statistics
BIOGRAPHY: ​Ji Qi received his B.S. degree in Mathematics and Applied Mathematics with a dual major in History from Sun Yat-sen University. He went on to complete his M.S. degree in Biostatistics, Data Science pathway at Yale University in 2023. He is currently a PhD student in Statistics at CUHK. His primary research interests lie in statistical machine learning and computational biology. Apart from his academic pursuits, Ji enjoys collecting and repairing fountain pens as well as playing tennis.

His current research interests lie in statistical machine learning and biostatistics. In his free time, he enjoys reading books, doing gym sports, and listening to pop music.

BIOGRAPHY: ​Yuyao received his B.S. and M.S. degrees from Renmin University of China, majoring in Statistics. His research interests lie in statistical machine learning, and he is currently working on developing practical methods for biomedical research. In his free time, he enjoys playing basketball and watching anime.
