​    Zhixiang Lin
    Associate Professor
    Department of Statistics
BIOGRAPHY: Zhixiang Lin received his B.S. from Tsinghua University in 2010 and Ph.D. from Yale University in 2015. During his graduate study at Yale, he was co-advised by Prof. Hongyu Zhao in the Department of Biostatistics and Prof. Matthew State in the Department of Psychiatry. Dr. Lin worked with Prof. Wing Hung Wong at Stanford University as a postdoctoral researcher from 2015 to 2018. In 2018, he was appointed as Assistant Professor in the Department of Statistics at the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK).
Beyond statistics, he is a keen tennis player.

    Kai Zhao
​    Postdoctoral researcher
BIOGRAPHY: ​Kai obtained his master degree from Harbin Institute of Technology in 2012, and workded in Tencent(Beijing) as a data analyst from 2012 to 2015. During the period, he fell in love with statistical learning, so he quited his job and started his academic career at CUHK as research assistant. Fascinated by the marriage between statistical learning and biomedicine, he started his Ph.D study at School of Biomedical Scineces in 2017 and obtained Ph.D degree in 2020. He is easygoing and always open to new knowledge. In his spare time, he like running and playing badminton.

    Jiajuan Tu
​    Postdoctoral researcher
BIOGRAPHY: Jiajuan Tu received her Ph.D. in Science from Central China Normal University in 2021.  Dr. Tu worked with Prof. Hong Yan at the Centre for Intelligent Multidimensional Data Analysis Limited (CIMDA) as a postdoctoral researcher from 2021 to 2022. At present, she works with Prof.Lin as a postdoctoral researcher at the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK). Her main research interests are machine learning and bioinformatics.

    Jingxue Xin

BIOGRAPHY: ​Jingxue received her B.S. in Applied Mathematics from Wuhan University in 2013 and Ph.D. in Operational Research from Academy of Mathematics and Systems Science, Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2019. From 2019 to 2024, she worked with Prof. Wing Hung Wong at Stanford University as a postdoctoral researcher. Her main research interests are bioinformatics and machine learning.

    Muyang Ge
​    PhD student in Statistics
BIOGRAPHY: ​Muyang Ge received his bachelor's degree from Harbin Institute of Technology in 2021, majoring in Statistics. Prior to his PhD study, he was a research assistant at the Chinese University of Hong Kong. His research interest is statistical machine learning and its applications.

    Xiaocheng Zhou
​    PhD student in Statistics
BIOGRAPHY: ​Xiaocheng obtained his bachelor's degree in Biomedical Engineering from Beihang University and finished his master's degree in Bioinformatics at Shanghai Jiao Tong University. His current research interests are statistical machine learning and computational biology. After research works, he prefers to relax by workout or cooking a meal for himself.

    Jishuai Miao
​    PhD student in Statistics
BIOGRAPHY: ​Jishuai received his bachelor's degree from Shandong University in Data Science and Big Data Technology in the Department of Mathematics. He nurtures a keen interest in coding alongside his mathematical endeavors. Before commencing his PhD journey, he held the position of a research assistant at the Chinese University of Hong Kong. His research primarily revolves around the biological applications of statistical machine learning.

    Ji Qi
​    PhD student in Statistics
BIOGRAPHY: ​Ji Qi received his B.S. degree in Mathematics and Applied Mathematics with a dual major in History from Sun Yat-sen University. He went on to complete his M.S. degree in Biostatistics, Data Science pathway at Yale University in 2023. He is currently a PhD student in Statistics at CUHK. His primary research interests lie in statistical machine learning and computational biology. Apart from his academic pursuits, Ji enjoys collecting and repairing fountain pens as well as playing tennis.
